PETERSEN MEDIA- With weather and scheduling keeping him out of the seat for three weeks, Parker Price-Miller showed no signs of rust on Sunday night as he traveled to Eldora Speedway to take on the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and came away with a third place finish.
“It was a really good night, and I have to thank Bernie, Betsy, and everyone that worked so hard,” Parker Price Miller said. “Eldora is a place that I really have gotten more comfortable at all year, and to finish on the podium with the Outlaws there is awesome.”
Timing the Indy Race Parts/Townline Variety/Chalk Stix backed No. 71P machine in third quickest in his flight, and third quickest overall, PPM would capitalize on the front row starting position in his heat race and pick up the win.
Moving into the Dash, the Kokomo, IN driver would draw the two-pill before finishing second and putting himself on the front row of the 30-lap feature event.
With his entry a little tight in the Dash, PPM and crew would leave it alone and send the same car out for the feature event. When the race came to life PPM would get off to a great start as he would grab the early lead and begin pacing the field.
As the laps clicked off, PPM would start to get a little too loose on exit and it would eventually let Christopher Bell get by and take over the race lead. With Bell knocking down the fence and using the wall as the cushion, Price-Miller would follow suit though he would later admit it was a sketchy feeling.
Slipping back to fourth as he tried to find comfort on the high, scary side, PPM would use a lap 21 restart to jump up to second and make a bid for the race lead as he attempted to put a move on Bell.
Unable to get by, PPM would run second until the white flag lap when Donny Schatz would sneak by as ‘The Law Firm’ closed his night out with a third place finish.
“Bell got by me banging off the wall, and I had to give it shot,” Price-Miller said. “It definitely worked but it was an uneasy feeling at first. We had a good car, and it was a great night.”
Price-Miller and his team would like to thank Townline Variety, Chalk Stix, Indy Race Parts, Bell Helmets, and PPM Titanium for their support.
