PETERSEN MEDIA: Outrunning the rain on Saturday night and getting one race in despite a pesky weather system that wreaked havoc in Northern California last week, Parker Price-Miller and the Destiny Motorsports team would go through some adversity in Stockton, CA but the team would show resolve as the rolled their sleeves up and worked through their issues.
“You definitely get frustrated being in California and having races get cancelled and really have nothing else to do,” Parker Price-Miller said. “Then when you are able to get a race in and have problems it makes you want to pull your hair out, but my guys are great. They never flinched and we all worked hard on Saturday night to scratch and claw our way into the feature.”
With 39 cars checked into Stockton Dirt Track for the weather shortened event, Price-Miller would battle some mechanical gremlins early in the night as he timed the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Townline Variety backed No. 4 machine in ninth quickest in his qualifying flight.
With the track offering up an extremely tricky racing surface following heavy rains, PPM would find himself in a tough spot during heat race action as contact with Sheldon Haudenschild would relegate him to a ninth place finish and put him in the Last Chance Showdown.
Taking the green flag from the second row on the lightning fast Stockton Dirt Track, Price-Miller would flex his muscles a little as he would gain two positions in the race and punch his ticket into the 30-lap feature event by way of his second place finish.
Lining up in the 12th row of the ‘A’ Main, Price-Miller would look to make a big run towards the front, but he would find himself catch a rut on the treacherous racing surface and it would see him slide through the infield and take a trip to the work area.
Able to restart from the tail end of the field, the young Kokomo, IN driver would do a great job of working his way forward. Avoiding some of the chaos that took place over the duration of the night, Price-Miller would rebound from a tough start to the night as he closed his night out with a 16th place finish.
“I really have to thank my guys for the effort they put forward,” PPM added. “It was a long night, but we were all glad to get to the track and get back to racing after two rain outs. I have to thank Rick and Barb Rogers for their support as well as all of our partners for their continued support.”
